Port Alberni publisher releases Victoria author Laverick’s debut novel

RCN Media, an independent publisher based in Port Alberni, has officially released Victoria author Laz Laverick’s debut novel, An Eye for Magic. The book follows thirteen-year-old Abigail Tally on her desperate quest to discover whether the spirits she’s been seeing since she was a child were merely figments of her imagination—as so many feared—or an indication of a rare and powerful magic dwelling within the young viscountess.

An Eye for Magic is Laverick’s first novel and the first book in her Abigail Tally series. Laverick, who was raised in a town called Shirley on an island in the Pacific, is a talented harp player and once owned a mediaeval-themed restaurant. Now married, Laverick writes fantasy prose and music—readers can find samples of the latter in the back pages of An Eye for Magic.

Copies of An Eye For Magic can be purchased through RCN Media’s website or at Port Alberni’s independent bookstore, Mobius Books Ltd. Readers can attend An Eye for Magic’s virtual launch on Tuesday, June 21, at 8:30PM, or Wednesday, June 22, at 8:00PM.
